Emerald gives Sprint, Crimson gives the Jump needed for the remaining elevated keys, then Golden and Azure increase your default ten-book capacity to fifteen. Open each matching chest as soon as you collect its key.

On the first floor, clear the huge pile of books from the bench nearest the staircase and scales. The key is hidden underneath the pile.

Crimson Octagon Key
Key location
Look closely at the University of Celesthall crest mounted on the staircase wall. The red octagonal key is attached to the crest.

Golden Diamond Key

Face the wall from the staircase. Jump onto the railing and inspect the bottom of the pot on the right-hand side.

Go to the rear of the second floor and find the 2O Travels of Otherworld shelves. The key sits on top of the diagonal bookcase to the right.

Do chest upgrades count as major magic?
No. These four rewards are treated separately from the five major spells. They can be used during an Anti-Magic Master run, and the movement plus inventory upgrades are especially useful when shelving manually.
